Chinese New Year - Arts Cultural Day for Year 7's

   

Kings Langley Arts Specialist College year 7students celebrated a Chinese themed Arts Day today with an activity packed curriculum led by Specialist Arts team and a visiting artist. The students spent time silk painting, making kites, creating pentatonic tunes and acting customary themes.

   
 
   

Specialist Arts College - Congratulations to Amy Tang!

   

Kings Langley School starts its second year as a Specialist Arts College with one of its Year 11 Art Students, Amy Tang, being awarded the Supreme Winner of Vinci’s 2009 Art Competition. The Competition is in its 5th year and the annual competition recognises the artistic talent of local students by encouraging them to produce artwork for display in Vinci’s Watford Headquarters. Amy was presented with Harlequin vouchers, a gold medal for winning her age group and a cut glass bowl for being the Supreme Winner. The following also received vouchers: Olivia Sellers, Sophie Ayres, Gemma Craggs, Kerry Allwood, Katie Sharpe

   
 

Family Learning event held at the Specialist Arts College at
Kings Langley School during the October Half Term

   

Over 100 adults and children attended the two day Family Learning event held at the Specialist Arts College at Kings Langley School during the October halfterm. Workshops delivered by the specialist team included card making, graphics, silk painting, djembe drumming, felt making and samba drumming. Participants left the school armed with new skills learnt in an informal and enjoyable atmosphere and look forward to the event being held again next year. The high quality teaching and resources were made available to the Community through the Specialist Arts College which is now in its second year.
